How a Supportive Team Culture Fuels Professional Growth – Insights from Kimber Matocha

This Q&A series highlights the people behind the project, sharing their career paths, insights, and the values that shape their work. Set within Steger Bizzell’s collaborative and purpose-driven environment, it offers perspectives on work-life balance, professional growth, and the shared commitment to making a meaningful impact.

In this edition, we spoke with Kimber Matocha, Executive Administrative Assistant, who shares her perspective on what makes the professional atmosphere at Steger Bizzell so unique, how past experiences have shaped her career, and what continues to motivate her as a valued member of the team.

How would you describe the professional atmosphere at Steger Bizzell? What makes it unique?

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of different environments. From the interview process to my first week on the job, it was clear that Steger Bizzell fosters a culture of professionalism and mutual respect. The team is not only passionate about their work but also consistently supportive and collaborative. There is a shared commitment to working together as one team to deliver quality results for our clients and to build lasting relationships. This is what makes Steger Bizzell unique.

What has been the most pivotal career decision you have made, and how did it influence your path?

In a prior role, I worked in a highly challenging environment—not because it was the easiest path, but because I was committed to the progress we had made in building a department and felt a deep responsibility and need to see that work through. That period offered valuable lessons about myself and helped refine my long-term career goals. It strengthened my grit, resilience, and ability to navigate demanding situations. Valuable lessons learned helped shape who I am today.

Since transitioning to the professional environment at Steger Bizzell, I have further developed the ability to approach challenges with composure, professionalism, and a solution-focused mindset. Choosing to make that career change remains one of the most pivotal and rewarding decisions in my professional journey.

What motivates you most about being part of the Steger Bizzell team?

What motivates me each day is the opportunity to take on new challenges, offer support where it is needed, and make a meaningful difference—no matter how big or small. If I can lighten the load for even one colleague so they can focus more effectively on their priorities, I know I have contributed in a valuable way.

The partners at Steger Bizzell foster an environment that encourages creativity and regularly express appreciation for hard work and dedication. Their genuine commitment to serving the community is both inspiring and a reflection of the strong character within the firm. It is a privilege to be part of a team that not only values professional excellence but also prioritizes community impact.
