Steger Bizzell is proud to contribute engineering services to Southwestern University’s $120 million investment in new facilities and campus improvements. This historic project is designed to elevate the student experience, strengthen recruitment efforts, and benefit the greater Georgetown community.

Approved by the Southwestern University Board of Trustees in 2022, the multi-year initiative includes:
- Two new residence halls for first- and second-year students
- A state-of-the-art Welcome Center featuring admissions offices, an art gallery, café, theater, and meeting spaces
- Renovations to the historic Mood-Bridwell Hall, the university library, and learning commons
- A new multipurpose sports complex that will bring Southwestern football back to campus for the first time since 1950
These additions will enhance the university’s ability to attract and retain students while also offering new opportunities for the Georgetown community. From upgraded living spaces that support student success, to facilities open for public use such as galleries, event venues, and athletic spaces, the impact of this investment will extend far beyond the university’s 701-acre campus.
Southwestern University leaders, alongside city officials, believe these projects will enrich both the academic environment and the broader community by drawing more visitors, supporting local businesses, and preserving the school’s historic charm while adding modern amenities.
Steger Bizzell is honored to play a role in shaping this transformational investment that strengthens both Southwestern University and the City of Georgetown.
